Im looking for a simple script which I can have on my website with which I can get the users ZIP CODE (if in the US). Then I should be able to do whatever I want with the zip code, ie. display it to the user, have it pre populate a form field, etc. If you can do this for me, please PM me with your price and please include ZIP FROM IP in the subject. Somebody please correct me if i am wrong, but wouldn't this if at best only give you the ISP location rather than the users? This will probably mean you find out the users city/country but i do not think you will be able to get their exact postcode.
That is correct. It can only be as accurate as IP geolocation data is accurate. That's great for some places, terrible for others (I would assume rural areas).
