Code for sending private message to members of vbulletin forums

Hello,

I am the normal user of vbulletin forums (not the administrator ).

How can I send private message to users, let say they users whose id starts from 100 to 300 ?

Please let me know if you need any other details

you could only do that if you have admin privileges.

you could use MassPM or SuperPM for example

I have seen many forums where other normal users have posted new entries or send message to other user using some software/scripts.

I think it should be possible , for example one can use post and pass the relevant parameters to forum/private.php?do=insertpm

but to post the data, one has to be logged in. Question is what are the relevant post parameters for logging and then to send private message to user?

i dont remember anyway of sending those PMs.

Most vbulletin sites have a limit of a 10 PM each 60 seconds (as example)

 

For me, It will be fine even if we can not send more than 10 messages in one minute,

I can just use wait command so that other messages are delivered after 1 min.

So do you have any idea what will be the post parameter for login and then for sending private message to particular user ?

It will be really good script if one want to use it for general marketing

It can be done, but I'm not saying how

 

It can be used as to pass some breaking news to many users. If one use it as spam then admin can always take care of it.

I believe writting independent program to achieve this goal wouild be a good challenge.

Most forums have a flood control on how many PMs normal users can send in a certain time frame. This is to prevent members from mass mailing spam, which is very common. If you have something you want to spread to the members, I'd recommend you contact the site admin to send a mass email about.

 

Only reason for a script like this would be to send spam, breaking news can be sent in a post - no need to spam others

 

Sending something to 200 members (100-300) *IS* spam, and there is no question about it. Even asking about such a script sets you up to being suspect in my eyes.

If what you have to say is that important, post it publically, that's what vBulletin is all about.

If you have a good deal related to the niche of the forum, then PM the Admin or Mods. I've worked with beneficial spammers in the past to help get their word out on my forums if I thought the cause was worthy or if they came to me first rather then spamming my members.
