    If you do go with both, make sure one is for redirecting, never have the same site on 2 domains

    I would take both domains if your budget permits. If not then go for .com because people still think of the internet as .com
    If someone else happens to register .co.uk then they will lose more traffic that goes to you rather than you losing more traffic going to them.
