It's no secret that a .com is more desirable than a .co.uk (although in the UK a .co.uk is very valuable - the last I read on Wookiepedia is that .co.uk domains were the fifth most registered domain, the Gerries coming in third with .de). Nonetheless, do .co.uk domains have any value outside the UK? I have a LLL.co.uk, and although I have no intention to sell this as it is used for my business, what kind of value am I looking at? A quick search on Google Maps UK shows a fair few companies who could use the domain, so I'm lucky to have it (I registered over 10 years ago). Cheers, Si
A co.uk is only valuable to a company from overseas as an add-on for their UK operations as I experience it from previous work experience with huge enterprises and currently from clients registering domains with us.
The three letters will make a huge difference to the value of the domain. If it's something like QZK.co.uk, it's worthless, whereas if it's more like ACE.co.uk it be mid-high $xx,xxx.
