I have a problem concerning revalidation of weight.
The system says there were no links on my site (its URL is: http://www.kapitalka.pl/ksiazki/72787.htm) and my account was disactivated. Although this site is still listed in the Google index it does NOT exist any more on the Internet. What do I have to do to successfully pass revalidation process?

Put up a page with that name and add the coop's code to it. Don't link to that page from your site, so it will slowly vanish from Google's index.

I have more than 20 000 sites that do NOT exist on the Internet but they DO exist in Google's index.
What am I supposed to do in this case?

Can you stop making new threads for this please? I've deleted it twice now. Bookmark this if you can't find it again.

If you've got that many pages in G that don't actually exist, then you've got bigger problems than just worrying about the co-op.
I don't know how sophisticated the co-op checking script is, but you could try putting the co-op code on any 404 pages.

Try revalidating, Westhaven. That error should tell you if a page is missing or not. If it's one page; upload the missing page with the ads on it; validate; then put that page in your robots.txt file not to be spidered; or do a 301 redirect for that page.

To begin, go to the main directory of your web site (where your main page is located) through FTP or Telnet. Look for a file there named .htaccess, it begins with the dot as though it is a long file extension. If you have the file, you will want to edit it. If you do not have the file, create a new text file and save it as ".htaccess".

If you are creating the file from scratch, simply type the following line into the file, changing the url to the location of your custom page:

    ErrorDocument 404 http://www.yoursite.com/custom_page.html

Keep it all on one line, with a space on each side of the number 404. Also, this is case sensitive, so be sure to check the case of the E and D in ErrorDocument before you proceed.

If you already have the file and need to edit it, look for a line like the one above. If it is there, you can just change the url. You may want to ask your web host before doing this, just in case. If you do not have the line, add it in after everything else on its own line.

When you are done, upload your new .htaccess file to the server. Then, be sure to use the CHMOD command through your FTP or telnet program to set the permissions to CHMOD 644.
