co.in or .in

I want to start a website, please suggest me if "co.in" or ".in" is better ?
I am targeting Indian audience and .com is not available for name I have in mind ..

I tried searching for this but couldn't find anything related ..

Go with .in extension if your website is targeted to Indian audience. It's easy to remember.

ICICI Bank and HostGator have launched new program called India Get Online, where you can get .in domain and hosting for FREE!

 

they have imparted lots of restriction..not recommended for people who want to have business for earning

 

2nd level extensions are always better, stick with .in domains only

I won't like to go for free domain name as they have many restriction using the domain name.
So I buy all .in domains so that they will be safe with me.

 

There isn't much difference at all. If you are targeting Indian audience both will do. However from a branding standpoint .in is best. But from usage standpoint .co.in is best. This is because most people in India doesnt know if there is a .in extension. People use yahoo.co.in and it is predominantly known tld in India. So its your call.

.in is better but if can take both of them then it would be really good
