I don't think it will be a flop. The registry has promoted the hell out of the extension and they did a very good job. The landrush is for sure not that cheap, but $300 is worth it if you go for the right domains. Think about cars.co, jobs.co domains with type in traffic. These for sure will end up in the auction, but still worth a try.

I believe .co domains will be a hit, it basically opens new domain name opportunities to the over-crowded .com scenario.

Check details about the .co domain, and its development at this website:

If I failed in a pre-ordered .CO in the landrush, will GDY give me refund?

It won't do any of those things. The number of people not typing in the "m" in your domain is maybe 1-2 times per year if that much, unless you're getting ridiculous traffic like Amazon. It does absolutely nothing for SEO to own a brand new domain name that is forwarded.

It's shorter then .com and i believe it's going to replace .com in the next few years.

.CO is more then just a commercial extension. It stand for corp, company, community, co-op, convention...ect

All those .co.uk .co.ca .co.jp .co.com .co.net .co ...ect will want to switch to .co

.com is old and probably in the future, everyone will forget about the .com and people will be using and remember ccTLDs more and more... because these is no space on the web for a simple word.com... all the good .coms are taken and there is no chance for new companies to register and trademark their name.com because someone else took it before you back in the 1980's. and using it as a simple blog site like acme.com. i rather have a word.co then wordwordwordword.com

Why pay more for an extra M ?
