Someone purchased co.cc (.cc - Cocos (Keeling) Islands, country code top level domain) like any other domain name vuvuzelas.cc etc
CO.cc . here co is name of domain and they are giving subdomains like (DOMAIN1.co.cc , DOMAIN2.co.cc ) thats why they are free.
They are subdomains not domains. I have bad experiences with them as they suspended my best site and showing there ads on them.
they are TLDs. co.in , co.uk are tlds itself so they are domains. CO.cc is a domain name CO with tld cc. several tlds offers 2 chars domain name so its a business to start as subdomains
co.cc is free, but it's suck.. it will redirect your domain to the page with ads (not your page).. when your domain became good.. usually when your domain has 2000 page indexed by search engine..
cz.cc is a great alternative to co.cc you can read more good feedbacks on http://www.facebook.com/apps/applic...!/apps/application.php?id=188506506792&v=wall
They treat the free ones like this But,if you pay a little for some good names, then its a bit reliable. I got myself BOLLYWOOD.co.cc last year, and its still going good.
I think you're right, I never thought about it before, their primary domain is www. co.cc isn't ? so it just like domain.blogspot.com
The DNS forms a tree-like hierarchy. Each TLD includes many second-level domains (such as "icann" in "www.icann.org"); each second-level domain can include a number of third-level domains ("www" in "www.icann.org"), and so on - like www.cz.cc - to get domain name there is for free and you can even surf websites and earn for each website visited. So in the end you can also buy VIP account, you can buy premium domain name there, have a more than 5 domain names etc. all for free.
I have seen a lot of related offers on the freewebspace, so I suppose that will be useful for you to visit that forum and check
