    Other than that, sNews is a simple but effective and highly customizable (though some knowledge of PHP and MySQL will be needed for that -- or simply reading the sNews forum at solucija.com -- a very helpful community, you'd be surprised) one-file (means easier poking at it and customization of it) CMS. I'm happy with it.

    I don't want to beat a dead horse, but the Dashboard module of Drupal does exactly this. It allows you to have any kind of layout you like.
    I am sure some of the sites listed here are using it:

    Well .... for staters i found etomite to be the easiest...

    http://www.etomite.org - Installed it today, will give and update later on how it goes... a newbie speaking and this is my first CMS
