Hello, I have been creating xhtml/css based websites via a text editor. I now want to convert the designs to be used in-conjunction with a CMS. Having read the CMS vs. Dreamweaver debate in this forum I am realising the benefits of going the CMS route. Are there any CMS that can be skinned with any (X)HTML template in minutes and minimal fuss? I have so far come across sNews (http://www.solucija.com/) The CMS should offer the usual features such as static articles and image galleries. Thanks,
Hey loggeo I did look at Joomla but it seems very complex to convert templates from scratch. What are other people's opinions?
sorry its called cms made simple cmsmadesimple dot org i cant post links yet as i dont have enough posts
Hey matttwine I will have a look at http://www.cmsmadesimple.org/ I have seen that you simply insert tags in your template and the information will automatically be called and displayed. Do you have any examples online of sites you have created? Thanks,
So far the front runners seem to be sNews and CMSMS after installing them on a local server. Is there anything else I should be looking at?
ACMS AKA mine, just copy and paste the full site code into one file, then extra files for other things such as gallery and so on... Not released yet, still writing all the classes
hey abdussamad thank you for your comment! So far I have checked out Textpattern, sNews, MODx and cmsmadesimple and I like their approach to CMS over Drupal and Joomla. They seem to allow the user to insert tags into the (X)HTML document and call the data when needed from the database. This allows for easier implementation of CMS websites. Each CMS has it's own tag language. What are your thoughts? Are there anymore CMS's that take this approach? So far cmsmadesimple has come across the easiest to use and implement when I was testing on a local server. Thanks,
