I am going to open a new site soon. I am still undecided on whether or not to use any php at all. I may just hand code it all in XHTML. If I do use php it will be in the form of a pre made cms as I am not skilled with php. My site design will need to be able to used on cms and the cms will have to be seo friendly, meaning heading tags and using keywords and descriptions with each individual page having a unique title I would also like from the cms: Downloads in the form shown on design with download count, and easy add with thumbnail. Article, with comments, for tutorials. Log in area which allows members to sign up and submit downloads. It counts each members submittion count and displays top 5. May be a few other features which I can't think of. This seems all too much for a cms so do you think I should just hand code in XHTML and have a form page to submit downloads and count myself from website given in form? Thank you for reading. I am reluctant to move to a cms as I want the site to be as seo friendly as possible. Is it really worth it do you reckon. Looking for other peoples opinion on the matter.
You can preview both the admin and user pages for just about every free CMS in existence by visiting http://opensourcecms.com/ Scroll the page down a little until you see the CMS Demo Menu on the left, and then expand the tabs and click on whatever system you want to preview. They also have demos for blogs, wikis, some social networks and more.
