Can anyone tell me a CMS that is fully integrated with a forum and that is updated regularly ? i know joomla has fireboard.. but fireboard is slow on updates so ur left with a mess.. Drupal doesnt really have forums.. so any others that are fully integrated, meaning = they share a login & register capabilities ? are there any out there
Subdreamer and VBulletin have full integration. Subdreamer - http://www.subdreamer.com/ Vbulletin - http://www.vbulletin.com/ And then there is vbadvanced - http://www.vbadvanced.com/ It fully integrates with VBulletin as well. There is a free version of vbadvanced, but it does not offer as many features as the paid version. VIVO is supposed to fully integrate with VBulletin. But this integration is through a VIVO plug in - www.vivvo.net Other options include - Miraserver, PHPFOX, PHPCOW and Typo3
huh... where do you get this from? Drupal does have its own inbuild forum. Maybe not as full featured as stand alone forums like VB, but it definitely has forums and you have the benefit of having one user logon for the site and the forum without using any additional hacks. Ofcourse there are Drupal modules also to integrate Drupal with other forum platforms.
Have you tried Joomla Forum Bridges? http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/communication/forum-bridges
You can integrate Subdreamer and Vivvo with VBulletin if you have some budget. If you need some free ones, try vbDrupal that integrate Drupal with vBulletin .
Lots of CMS platforms have integrated forums, Joomla is not integrated, its a plugin. Subdreamer is also not integrated, and considering it's costly and you have to get the plugin as well, not recommended. Wordpress and BBpress? - Not a good idea, integration is still poor. Good Choices: Drupal - Integrated forums PHP Fusion - Integrated forums Zikula - Integrated forums MemHT - Integrated forums
According to the subdreamer website, it is integrated. I do not see any mention of requiring a plug in for the forum integration to work. The exact words that the subdreamer website uses is "complete integration". http://www.subdreamer.com/ http://www.subdreamer.com/features
drupal has integrated forums in it Those guys have very good updates see : grownupgreek.com perfect for use!
cheers ppl much appeciated .. never heard of Zikula - Integrated forums MemHT - Integrated forums ill look into them
(you spelled it wrong) Yeah - That's a relatively popular site/forum. The forum section is located here: http://grownupgeek.com/forum From what i can see, it's using the Advanced Forum module, the Messaging module for PM's, BuddyList module for 'friends lists', User Badges module, PhpFreechat module for chatroom, eand several others.. along with a few other minor mods/customizations. .. Although not the BEST forum, Drupal gives you a very good framework to build a GOOD forum that integrates well with other features of a site.
