Aside from wordpress & movableType, what are the other recommended cms/scripts for a recipe site?

Suggestions and recommendations are much appreciated. :)

    Thanks.

you can use www.opensourcecms.com to check the demo of various cms scripts
or www.cmsmatrix.org to compare various free and paid cms scripts

I will recommend you to test drupal, mambo and joomla and see which fits your need the best

I'm a huge fan of Drupal, I've been using it for everything lately (fictionclassics.com being the latest). It works "out of the box" and has a ton of modules for indexing and displaying content if you want to do anything fancy. Most of the free themes are pretty plain, but they're easy to customize.

I have sites using both Drupal and Joomla and I spend a lot more time working on the Drupal site since it's so easy to add content to.

i have to agree. joomla is a good choice. if you dont like joomal then either mambo or drupal would be your second best option.
