    hello :)

what is the easiest cms to template? mambo they say is easy to template, but looking at the themeing system, it really quite hard to customized it thoroughly. cmsmadesimple is quite easy to theme, but a bit low on the feature side... another problem is that most cms' ,being opensource, has no documentation...

    any suggestions?

Wordpress is mainly meant for blogging, but with the release of 1.5, they have added 'pages', so it will work as a CMS just fine.. its extreemly easy to template too.

I am planning on trying to start a new site using it... when (if :p ) I do so, I'll let you know how it turns out.

The site a gave has http://sourceforge.net/projects/exponent/ voted by users as most flexible CMS. I would think part of being flexible, would be a having a good template system. Maybe, it's worth a try.

Xaraya (http://www.xaraya.com) is supposed to be very good at seperating the core logic (php) from the presentation layer (html, css). Which in theory should make it cleaner (easier ?) to template. It's a fork from PostNuke, which was a fork from PHP-Nuke. Don't assume Xaraya is just another PHP-Nuke though. From what I've read, the development team made quantum leaps in terms of security and ease of use.

    without a doubt cmSimple.

    [CON]
    Non - mySql
Limited to Company and personal pages.

    [PRO]
    Easy to use - wysiwyg
Only two files to modify to templates
    FREE - http://www.cmsimple.dk/

All you need to do is
a.) find a free or HTML website template and put
put {tags} where you want the CMS to show up.
b.) Add the cmSimple template stylesheet to the stylesheet you got with your website template and your done.

Here is a detailed example of all the tags

    cmSimple Templated examples

Visit their forums for free templates - but it's so easy why not stick the tags into the html/flash templates you like and enjoy the cms features.
