As someone who runs a forum and is a member at many, I think it is nice to "welcome" newbies, and make them feel welcomed. Yes, some people pad their posts in an intro forum, but I think making people feel welcomed outweighs the jerks who do this. Jim
Many reasons. A few are: -To get permission for Signatures -To get permission for the Buy/Sell forums -To spam their signature links -To make it appear as if they are "senior members" so traders view them more favorably
I want to get to 10 so I can post a link and 25 so I can post in the for sale forum Sometimes if you have 1,000 or something people trust you more, or that's the theory anyway. EDIT: Basically everything Crazy Rob said are the reasons why people like higher post counts.
I'm sure everyone here knows someone who talks alot but has very little to say......reputation is built on the quality of your posts, not the quantity.
