Anyone know what is happening with this company? A client of ours has many proxies on one of their proxy hosting packages (the Pro package) but the service has been truly useless recently. They are down constantly and I have sent countless emails and have 2 or 3 tickets open re all these problems. No response for days and this is killing the sites. They used to be decent when Kevin was managing it but the uptime is non-existent lately. Based on the current service, if you are thinking of using them, I suggest you look elsewhere.
I dont have much idea about this web hosting but looking at the the hosting features this firm provides, i have onl two words to say.. TOOOO EXPENSIVE
They are not expensive. That isn`t the reason for my original post. They used to provide a decent service. If you are looking for hosting based on pricing alone, that isn`t your best strategy if you are looking for a quality set-up.
I can't comment on there quality since i have never used there services nor i have heard/read about them.. so the only option to left for me 2 judge them (Not completely but partially) is by looking at the product they are selling to me and the money they are taking in return from me.. I mean c'on they are charging me $3.55/month for 15gb disk-space and 80gb band-width as there cheapest plan.. The firms like BLUEHOST, FATCOW, JUSTHOST have unlimited products in that price and also the are ver good and reliable HOST... Maybe I am wrong or m approach in judging something isn't the one it should be and if that is the case then please rectify me... I'm a newbie in this feild, just 4-5 months old, and there are people who are toooooooooo senior to me... so i am eligible to make mistakes and learn from them... hehehehe
Tickets now responded to and sites are now up so credit where it`s due. Perhaps I`ll update this thread with some updates over the coming weeks. cynical tear, they may say unlimited but if you start to use masses of resource + bandwidth, that certainly won`t remain. No such thing as unlimited in a shared/virtual environment.
Even if its 50GB or unlimited disk space... its all the same rules. In a shared envorment if your using more server CPU/RAM than allowed, the host will cut your site. Unlimited is just a marketing word and holds no value. Just looking at cmodz-hosting.com and I think they have very fair prices, if they hold true to 24/7 support.
Absolutely. Sites still down and no further updates to the tickets. Thank goodness I don`t host my own sites on such a service. Shame they have gone to pieces as they used to be decent.
Credit where it is due - they have actually been very good in recent weeks so hopefully the problems that they had have been fixed.
Credit where it's due Their server had some major problems they got it back up and running though and gave me 1 month hosting free
I know I don't wana move to another host since cmodz doesnt care about warez linking etc and lots of the stuff that other people like hostgator ban you for.
