I am not usually the extremist...but closing my facebook account felt like a great solution is reclaming daily time and losing stress. Seems like keeping track of daily "friends" issues and events not only adds to time away from real family but added an emotional baggage. Yes moderation in all things...but how many of us really end up doing that? Plus when I was not keeping up with facebook posts there is always that feeling of stuff to do or not caring enough to touch base, etc. For sure Facebook is here to stay...but time reclaimed is like living longer. My 2 cents. Of course this can be used for other areas too...we cancelled our tv and just use netflix for on-demand viewing, etc.
If you use FB just to check your friends updates, of course you should continue. But i don't use it to check what others do. i use it to show other what i do and what i want them to do. Kind of free marketing..
Facebook is useful if you don't spend 8 hours a day using it. I think using it in moderation is the best solution, but like you said, how many of us really do that?
I have 2 Facebook accounts, one for marketing and business contacts, and one for gamer contacts, some of which are IRL friends but most are people I met through online gaming. As the only form of contact I had with the majorty of them was through the games we played, It makes it a lot easier to find out whats happening and when we're going to be playing a match. I did have a facebook which I had family, friends, etc on but I just found it really annoying with all the spam. Soon as I closed my personal account, I noticed no one wanted to take my photograph anymore, such a relief.
haha I think for those of you that facebook was taking over your life, I dont think the problem is facebook at all but taking it far too seriously
i love facebook but i'm like its not facebook thats bad its the user spending all the time on there. I dont use it much anymore same old bs on there lol.
