close threads older than X days & let thread owners in BST close their own threads

I would rather see infractions given to people who reopen a thread without any good reason. Why close good threads just based on the time frame. Many have great value down the road. But if someone replies to a 2 year old thread with a completely irrelevant comment, then the problem is with the member ... not the age of the thread.

 

If the thread is closed then there wouldn't be such problem

 

Mods dont close BST threads once the deal is over anyway.
They have many works to do IMO.

If the OP can close BST threads, it would be a very good feature..

think closed threads are bad. old or new. let people speak, and if they reply to an expired thread don't bother answering, as simple as that

 

They just don't answer, this will be a source of pad posting, and also they ask of the finished offers which irritates a lot.

I ended my offer there and request the MODS to close the thread before people reply there for the offer.

 

yeah!! but when they reply, they bump an old dead thread on the top.
that bury one new thread to the next page and chances of that thread comming back on the first page is as less as myself being a Mod of DP.
