I have a domain called irishannalsdotcom. I hope to develop my interest in all things Irish by developing some independent sites as subdomains. For example: thecelts.irishannalsdotcom To have order on the subdomains I make I would like to have a landing page similar to the homepage of about.com. I'm looking for a coder who could do something like this for me. It would have to be editable by me so that I could add categories/channels/latest site etc It should have a search box also. I'd be hoping to have similar colours/design as my blog: PaddyBloggit dot com as I will be linking it to my blog. Please post questions here or PM me with your suggestions/quotes.
Further info: I have received some PM's but am still looking for someone to fulfill my original request. Just to remind people there is a recession in my part of the world. I'm not looking for a total remake of aboutdotcom just a simple bit of coding. Cash available but not a bank full of it. My record stands on its merits. A good job is promptly paid for. So .... any 'reasonable takers'?
Tetragon, I highly recommend avoiding Jom-Guru. He promised me the world to me, but what he delivered was very low quality and took twice as long. I ended up having to find someone else to start from scratch. What jom-guru did was unusable.
Thanks for the heads up briangmu. Coders/Designers etc. I have explained what I need implemented. I'm not running a lottery. I expect to receive the proposals from the 'experts' and a definite price for the work proposed. Asking me what my budget is doesn't fill me with confidence in the people who ask that question. Put your proposals together, be they proposals for a budget, medium or high end product. I'd appreciate, also, links to similar type work you have done. I have always paid my way, am prepared to pay my way but I need potential coders/designers/experts to convince me that they are the one to produce what I need at a reasonably realistic price. Don't ask me what my budget is please! I don't want to waste time in discussion ... I want a professional job, done quickly, paid for quickly, a thank you and off I go my merry way to pursue my project. I am determined to avoid situations like the one experienced by briangmu. Dear DP Members, As Specified by Mr. Brian to do Design the Joomla template as per their PSDs. He said we modify the Free or existing template.here by I m want to show that Whole Joomla is Concerned is all about Free and Opensource CMS system. As the Joomla system is Designed and work on the core inbuilt Joomla Functions.So all the template work on the Joomla tags and Calls.So all new template are designed as per the Original Template Provided by the Joomla Team Itself.So We have used that Part only and My Client confirms that I have 95 % work in 4 hours less than 4 days.which i promised of providing 98 % work. We have done all the template development work directly on his server. On his request we have work on his server directly. He suddenly remove our access to his server FTP and admin of website.and Completely take over our all codes.and Now asking for refundThe Project total cost was 175 $ for 4 days.We have till now recieved 112.5 $ yet. I have asked him let me complete remaining 5 % work within 4 hours.He said he can do himself too.Mean that He just want to save the money.Well It all upto You to decide what should be done. The difficulty here on DP is trying to decipher who can do the job and who can't (from a customer's point of view). When looking for a service provider here I always seem to have to err on the side of tremendous caution. I have a job and I have money to pay for it. Any 'honest' person out there willing to take on my job for a reasonable fee?

I sympathise with your plight jom-guru. I accept that there are chancers on all sides of the coin ... All I want is a simple job done simply. My difficulty is differentiating between the genuine vendor/coder and the one who is just chancing his/her arm. I was burnt badly in a WP Theme project some time back .... it cost me a number of times because I had to get someone to try and fix the original coder's work after I had paid him. Coder number two did as equally as bad a job ... I ended up using a free theme and putting my own customised header image on it .... I did this myself ... header image cost me $15. If I had done this at the start I would have wasted money and time. From experience .... I have learned to be cautious. My rep and iTrader is good. Price and project proposals anybody?
