well, you cloak the link so that the user doesn't see it's a hoplink when he clicks it. If you really want to cloak it, then you should do a frame redirect from one of your own pages.
The other thing you seem to have missed is that cloaking - especially when selling to other IM's - doesnt flag your link as an obvious affiliate link. The more astute browsers out there will recognise a hop link and simply inert their own aff ID and hence get a discount on the product instead of crediting you with the sale. I always cloak.
But unless the site redirects, the affiliate link WILL show in the end. There doesn't seem to be anything I can do about that.
If you use the following piece of code, the user will not see that you're redirecting to another site, i.e if you put this code in yoursite.com/water4gas.html , and it redirects to water4gas, the users will not see www.water4gas.com as the site viewed, but they'll see yoursite.com/water4gas.html , so this is a true URL cloaking
NO this is not how it is done. Using the header function in PHP after html has already been output can not be done. This will not work and will throw an error. Plus it must be saved as .php which this is saved as a .html.
They cloak your link in a way that when the user views your page, he sees tinyurl as the link path instead of username.product.hop.clickbank.net, Tinyurl.com looks much better than username.product.hop.clickbank.net
Yes but with tinyurl people will see it is a different domain and so they will shy away from clicking on it. I know most of the people that buy CB items are idiots, and idiots just click and don't hover over the link to see where it really goes. But just having it go through your own site rather than tinyurl makes the link look a heck of a lot more trustable.
tks for clearing that up will this approach also prevent the hoplink being stolen? lastly should i use the tinyurl as the linked url? ie if i say click here to find out more should i link that text with the new tinyurl? tks in advance
yes, use tinyurl rather than the "naked" cb hoplink. There is a very very limited possibility of someone stealing your hoplink, don't worry about it.
It works man, that's how I do it, you can use a html extension, it will still work. I'm telling you because that's how I cloak all my links.
