Instead of using long ugly affiliate links witch the searchengines can easily recognize as affiliate links would it help with SEO to cloak them? For instance, yourdomain.com/keyword.html. And should they be dofollow links or nodofollow? Thanks
Many affiliates cloak links like that. Some for the visitors and some do it for the spiders. As far as using NOfollow on affiliate links, a big issue has come up with that this week, with many people interpreting a Googler's comments to mean affiliates need to start nofollowing affiliate links. Here's a discussion about it. Nofollow Affiliate Links or Google May Penalize You What do you think?
Thanks for the link. As for the cloaked link I just use a php redirect rather than the long affiliate link which is easily recognizable by both visitors and the searchengines. As for the links it seems to suggest nofollow, or am I misunderstanding it. The thread seems to suggest the opposite and just let Google do as they wish as they go back and forth with their policies. Thanks
i always use a php redirection file to send people to my merchant, i'v never experience it but people say that if google reconize the affiliate link in your site will not gonna rank you will
