We have a video site based on clip-share (www.clip-share.com) script. Our Hard drive got corrupted and we lost the video table from the database. Fortunately we didn't lost any video files or anything just the video table. The latest database backup i had was 2 months old, i imported that tables from the database and everything is working fine now. But we lost around 1500 video info in database but we got all the video files intact (all videos have thumbnail with same name as well). We have All .flv video files in our videos folder. What i was thinking, is it possible to create a script that would list all lost videos in a page. there would be a thumbnail for all videos and user can click on it to watch it, and by the thumbnail there would be a place to enter title and description. And when user enter the title and description and submit it, it adds the video in database. so all users and uploaders can help name those videos so they are back again in database. Is it Possible?
Yes absolutely possible, but to do that I have question. Is there any critaria that what thumb file is associated with what flv file, I mean are their names identical excluding extension ? And, are they in the same folder, or separte? (which does not matter much). It will be fairly simple, as well as I can write you script where you can see the thumb and bulk update titles, descriptions etc, where duration will be updated automatically. Let me know. regards
Yes video and thumbnail names are identical but they are in separate folder. Please PM me with your MSN or Yahoo and we can discuss this.
