...liberal? To me, it looks like Americans are more and more liberal, which is fine if they want so. I just wonder whether Americans study history thoroughly enough to notice that all most major empires, at some point, decided to cash in and enjoy the wealth. The US are definitely an empire, although a modern version, that is based on economy and influence more than actually expanding borders (actually almost non existent for many). And liberals definitely want to enjoy the wealth accrued by past generations, or simply want to give it away. The country is inevitably going down. I can see history repeating... Do they realize that in your opinion? Or would they decide otherwise if they knew that? That's what I don't understand...
American isn't going down, one of the reason that made is so great is our entrepreneur can do sprite and we still have that can do attitude, that allows us to adapt to different environments. You"ll know when the American empire will be going down people will stop wanting to come here, and we'll start leaving the US for other countries in masses.
America is going down. The entrepreneurial spirit is more and more isolated to its own citizens, and less open to others as it has been since the birth of the country. I believe that a country which closes its doors is going nowhere else than down. While Europe is expanding - too much at my taste - it's opening the door, with good and bad, but getting stonger. I've never seen the US so little open for business than since Bush is in... While I have lots of difficulties to open a business and create employment in the US, I have open arms and finacial aid in other countries...amazing... I won't be surprised to see, in the future, American companies moving to open countries to be able to expand... I've never seen so many Americans immigrating to Europe than these days. While before, I knew no one, I have american friends in Belgium, France and Spain as never before...
I wish that was the case, ora at least, that I could believe it. So please persuade me! As a matter of fact, most of all immigrants are from countries that are far behind, and most are actually from South America nowadays, fewer from Europe as a century ago. And yes, you're prob right, the US aren't going down, they are at their apex, so kind of starting to go down. The spirit you're talking about is not as great as it used to be, instead, the culture of poverty and of artifically providing for the poor (although that's quite relative and subjective) is picking up. No, don't provide for yourself, cry and someone will help you... You didn't make any mistakes, you were unlucky, someone should help you...
1/4 of the Millionaires in the US were NOT born here, so the entrepreneurial spirit is alive and well in the United States As for Europe, France's government stopped the the merger of Dannon which they classified as a national asset. E.On has an extra 5000 workers that it can't get rid of because of Germany Labor laws and lets not even get into how Muslims from Northern Africa and Pakistan are treated as Second class citizens in Europe. Or since the mid 90s the US has been growing our economy twice as fast as Europe.
Correct. They became all millionnaires in 2001 or before... ...going in hands of...European. You mean like black people in the US? Of course, Europe as it is, is a new born, if you compare what's comparable... But I don't want to break your dream...Let's just see...
Most people don't become millionaires over night, yet the opportunities are great for everyone here. I believe pepsi wanted to buy Dannon. Which one do you think will happen first a black person as president of the united states or a north African or Pakistani Muslim as president of a large European county.
The European union is new, Europe is older then the United State, and that is your history lesson for the day.
The European union is new, Europe is older then the United State, and that is your history lesson for the day.
Thanks for the lesson. I guess you feel good... You're right. My meaning is the european country of France with a french franc and an european country as German with a deutshmark were not as strong. The european countries as France and German (and the others) with an Euro will be stronger than the US in a faster future than we think. Yes, Europe is old. The US are young and everything has still to be done in the US. Europe is opening the business doors. I could make an LLC in 7 minutes ( + 30 minutes of line!!) and zero euros. I receive some papers to fill for financial help and other low interest loan. I'm still waiting authorization from the US autorities to hire my first US citizen employee (paperwork sent in May 2007!!!!), after waiting 5 months to get my LLC paperworks that cost me $550 !!! ...and I can't even have a driver's license to drive from my home to my company I can't wait an America open for business... But we have a common point you and me: We deeply love the United States of America
America is going liberal, don't set your expectations to high as far as business and economy... Europe? Just a mess, maybe in 30 years time, but they won't be huge players anymore, since other countries are going to takeover...
I agree. But we can't predict the future yet. Muslims are sneaking in to take over a Europe where it seems that Europeans themselves are to blind to see it. Maybe because it occurs slowly. Jose Maria Aznar was right about this problem that nobody, amazingly, could understand. I believe it's already too late. While a post above ask what's first, a black as US president or a Pakistani in a EU governement, it is irrelevant. The black president WILL BE US citizen while the Pakistani will remain Pakistani. However, Beligum already has a Marroqui minister in the governement. Slowly but surely they are taking over. You're right on this...
