First, I appreciate everyone taking the time to read this post.

I am currently SEOing a niche website, and am looking for some feedback/ideas. On this project time is of the utmost importance, and each day not on the front page is another day of lost revenue.

Thus far I have done the following:
    1. Submitted to all the major directories
    2. Bought text links
    3. Bought blog posts

My current budget is as follows:
    Already Spent:
    $1,500
    Plan to Spend this Month:
    $3,000 to $4,000
    Willing to Spend Each Month:
    $1,000 to $2,000

As I mentioned before, being in the top 10 is needed, in the top 5 preferred and top the 3 would be ideal.

So I present to you this question:
With the above budget, what would be the best course of action to SEO this niche website to the top of Mt. Google …

Thanks in advance for the feedback.

With that budget I would spend time 2 things.

    1. Getting relevant backlinks. - Strong Directories, (dmoz, yahoo, business.com etc) Buy product reviews, blog posts, etc just make sure they are relevant.

    2. Content - Make great content on your website and internal link your target keywords. You can hire content writers and etc. If the content is really compelling try to promote it social media websites (digg, reddit, etc).

Side note - If you are in a very niche market think of ways you might be able to go viral. (Videos etc)
