You have done all you could to remind him of his pending work. The person is probably very busy elsewhere or is engulfed in some deep mess not to be able to contact you....

Having paid; under normal circumstances, he would surely get back...sooner than later.

    Regards,

Sometimes my clients disappear for awhile and then reappear with another assignment when I'm bombarded with other work lol. Just move on and don't worry about anything. You'll probably hear from him or her sometime in the future when you're busy with other work. :)

Hm, that sucks my friend. It's a tricky world out there. As far as the guy coming and going.

Let your client that you have other work coming up and that you may or may not be available, but when he's ready he can schedule a time to go over the details at hand.

    just my .02

    Good luck!

Basically there is nothing to worry about in this situation because the client paid you but never give you details on what to do. Refund the money and inform him that you are working on other jobs now.

Update: I sent the client another email reminding him of the project. I told him I would refund the money if he had changed his mind. The email bounced back. It's the same PayPal email he used and the one we communicated with during the first assignment. So I'm not going to send a refund. I'm thinking maybe he changed jobs. In any case, I'm done worrying about it.

Good move. It happens the other way around more often than not. You gave it a go and what more can you do?

Agree with webgal, usually the client has to do the chasing. Here, you have been transparent and made genuine attempts to contact him.

Would anyways suggest that you keep that money aside for at least the next 3 months so that it could be refunded even at short notice

I'd keep the money in an interest earning savings account

A few years ago I had a client hire me for SEO. He paid me a nice amount of money.

No sooner did we start working on his site, when he sent an e-mail and stated he had to go away for a year but would be back and wanted to finish the SEO work then.

I felt no other choice but to say okay.

Just over one year later he returned, wrote me that he was back, and we did the SEO for his site.

I was amazed and hopefully he was too that I was still there and willing to do the work.

Its a crazy world and one never knows what could pop up but no matter what, always be safe and protect yourself.

Best rule of thumb, is to do what you would want done, if it were you.

    :)

I know this doesn't help the OP, but you should leave negative itrader if you can't work things out. Also, comment in his thread about this, (or your deal thread).

To OP. Maybe something happened to your client's connection or his health. You should just carry on as normal, send him one final note and explain that you will be working on additional projects until you hear back from him - there may be a delay for him when he provides you the details... etc. You've been on hold long enough :). Nothing to worry about on your part really.

Personally, I would issue refund in paypal and leave it at that ;)
