I have a client that checks his keywords quite often, but for the past week or so he does not see them.

I have checked on a number of computers are different locations (some signed in with google and others not) and I see his ads every time.

Any ideas on why this is happening and how to fix it?

Is one of the agreed objectives with your customer that you would run a campaign to him personally see his ads on Google? no? So fix your customer by explaining him that his ad is not shown for every search - based on quality score and budget.

if he really wants to see the ad, ask him to run Google adpreview, it may increase his chances to see his ad.

Isn't it also a case that google will stop showing ads that ppl don't click on, so as he's likely not to click on his own ad that's maybe why his doesn't appear.

Never heard nothing about this - do you have a source of this information or do you think that the system works like this?

I found out about this from my Google Account Manager a couple of weeks back - they changed things a few weeks back (at the same time as the landing page slap).

    To quote him directly...

In relation to this issue, I believe what you experienced is actually
related to a recent change in our ad serving system and if you experience
the issue again, I would suggest you use the ad preview page below.

Essentially, your average ad position in your account might differ from
the position in which your ad actually appears on Google search pages due
    to several reasons:

    - Your targeting options: Your ad's position varies with the user's
language and location settings and how other ads compete in these areas.
The average ad position listed in your account reflects these factors.
Therefore, if your ad targets multiple languages and locations, the
position of your ad that you see on Google is likely to be higher or lower
    than the average.

    - System responses: Google responds to each search uniquely. For example,
if you search for your ad multiple times on Google, our system might adapt
the results in order to better relate to your needs. Therefore, the
position of your ad is likely to change.

If you have trouble seeing your ad, we recommend searching for your ad
using Google's ad preview page. This page shows how your ads and search
results appear to most users on Google search results pages, without
accruing extra impressions for your ads.

It's the system responses part that's relevant...

This, still don't explain what he said as there is no mention to "stop showing ads":

It stops the adverts completely - it's happened on a number of accounts that I manage, and the adverts appear for everyone else, but not me.

He may not have explicitly said so, but that's what happens...

Thanks guys. He checks his ads when his call volume is slow to see if there are any problems. Also, he has a competitor who owns two companies which both compete with him for keywords and he complained to google to see if they would do anything, but it does not look like they will.
