I recently completed a project for a client form a well known coding company and even though I did it perfectly he hasn'e paid me and so now owes me more than 50 % and hasn't replied to any of my messages and I think he is trying to scam me, what can I do?
If it is a well known coding company get their address and if it close by - visit them. If not, send them a letter/ call their mainline etc.
May be he is buy with work ... I suggest you to give him some more time .. cuz normally this happens with all of us !!
If he hasnt replied, he probably is busy and just hasnt read them. However to check, send him another message with a read reciept. That way you will know when he reads it. If he reads it and doesnt reply he is scamming you.
If you are doing something for a company, agreement is a must ! This should be a good experience as from now you will always ensure to get paid for what you are doing
I had been sending reminders for about 2 weeks and now its been almost 3 weeks, what should I do? Should I wait and give him more time?
Lesson Learned, Paypal won't do anything, he can just cancel invoices. Always sign legal Contracts, if you are a web designer I suggest buying the premium web design contract from sitepoint. 100% Legal, if you ever get screwed you just scan them in and your client will get served.
If the client works somewhere near you, then you always go to their office and ask for payment. But if the client is a thousand miles away, then the best you can do is to remind them through emails and phone calls. If that does not work, then you would just have to accept it as it is. But since your articles were not paid, then technically you still have rights to them which means they can still be sold to others.
Sorry to hear that . I code several themes for dp members and never get scammed . In one occassion, one of my custom paid me the other 50% a couple of days later than the date we both agree .
