Hi, I've just picked up a client who only wants his site optomized for search engines, presently he's not ranking anywhere with anyone that I can tell, not a single keyword on his site and page titles like "page1" and "page 2" Anyway, no problem with that but during our inital conversation he mentioned that he has 3 or 4 domain names registered that he's done nothing with. All related to his company but not his company name. Certainly he could do a perminant redirect to his existing page which is useful for people who guess at a domain name but not much else. The other thought that I had was that he could use those pages for articles related to his buisness.... like information pages with links to his service site on each of them. Which, if either, would be a better option? Or is there something else besides these or a "holding place" that multiple related domain names would be useful for? Any suggestions would be appreciated! Lisa
I would develop those extra domains into sites. Turn them into satellite sites, feeding to your "mothership" site. You can have these sites be like pre-sell pages for your main site. Put them all on different C class ip addresses and then link all the satellite sites to your main site. I've been doing these tactic for a while in a lot of niches. Works great for conversions and traffic.
