Hi, I have asked this question before on forums but never really got a satisfactory answer for my client

He is getting more frustrated by this and is demanding an answer from me

The problem is, he cant see his ads but i can, he only lives 15 miles from me and is wondering, if he cant see them, how many more people cant see them?

Does anyone actually have an answer for this

    Thank you all

    Cass

I never look for my own ads, all I care about is am I getting the traffic and a good roi?

Geotargetting might be the answer. Google might think he lives in another country?

Like I said, I'd tell him he shouldn't care as long as it's working and you're doing a good job at maximise traffic for the price he's paying.

Hi all and thanks for the info

I have since found the client has his own dedicated IP Address and according to google, this may be the reason

I need to get his IP Address and analyse it in google "Ads Diagnostic Tool"

    Will post any useful info

    Cheers

His IP address will be different from yours and hence might not be in Googles database to be able to locate.

I use GeoIP for locating users - and that seems to be accurate for 96% of the time.

Google doubtless buys in a vastly more expensive database, but it will never be 100% accurate.

This may help your client be able to see his ads, try this. Especially if you are using DSL which doesn't use a "static" (non-changing) IP address. Suggest to your client to try this as well or call his ISP about that kind of info probably much easier than have the google tool figured out. So try going to:
    Start->Run->Type in "CMD"->Enter->Type "ipconfig /release"->Enter->Type "ipconfig /renew"->Enter
Note: the quotations are not what you should type, just used to make it more visible and clear.
Then suggest him try looking for his ad again and hopefully he will have a completely new IP address, one similiar to yours and thus be able to see his ads! Hope that helps. Cheers!

In your MMC account, go to Campaign Mgmt, Tools, Ad Diagnostic Tool.

    Quote:
" Option 2: Search Results Page URL
Use this option if you're concerned about a particular search results page that you believe should be showing one of your ads. Copy and paste the URL from the address bar on the search results page where your ad should be showing."

Enter your SERP here, and you should see it. Regardless of Geo targeting.

    Sound right everyone?

He's probably running Norton Anti-Virus which blocks all the G ads from being displayed.

    The wierdest thing

We just couldnt figure this out, he couldnt see his ads from home or office, both of wich are less than 20 miles from me

I could see his ads and so could others we asked

He then decided that he would like to increase his daily budget as he was getting good leads and wanted more, we did this and now he can see his ads?

    Very strange

It was probably an update at Google for their IP Geodatabase.

We get that at times, one week ads cant be seen - then suddenly for no reason apparently, they can be.

It's not starnge at all, the budget issue is one of the topics on the page I linked to way back when. The distribution of your ad(s) was limited due to budget issues.
