My current tracking202 code requires I have its code before the </body> tag, so clicktale is rendered useless now that I can't put it's code before that tag. Are there any alternatives to clicktale? By alternatives I mean analytics that record visitors. Thanks!
A small startup (yes, and I'm part of it) has just released something that you might consider as your 'ClickTale alternative', named TrackConsole (I cannot put links in my posting yet, so just go to www.trackconsole.com you're there). Click the [features] TAB for a quick overview on what's possible. Ofcourse we have replay, heatmaps, clickmaps, scrollmaps, and the lot, but the major difference is that you can filter through your data in realtime - in a desktop application. Filter on referrer, browser, OS, visit time of day, or a combination of it, adjusting your heatmaps and all other statistics (on your dashboard) to very specific visitor groups. You might want to give it a whirl, or give your honest feedback! Both are very appreciated! - Riven
I just signed up for trackconsole.com's trial and will let everyone know if it works out. Thanks for the referral Riven.
sebastya, you can still use the clicktale code. you just have to put it somewhere towards the </body> tag but not after it.
Thanks for the kind words. As stated earlier in this thread, I'm the developer of TrackConsole and to our frustration quite a few mails the server sends are not ending up in the mailbox of our clients. We have adjusted the template of the mail several times, but the problems remain. According to our logs the remote SMTP server(s) accept the mail and quit with the message "Queued for delivery" but clients never receive the mail, which probably means some SPAM filters are way too strict. BTW, the server is not blacklisted anywhere. I can assure you TrackConsole is up and running, and currently recording many websites successfully. If you do not receive any mail from us, please send us an email through your contact-page so we can setup your account manually. With kind regards,

This is really cool. Excellent tool for beginners, who can start with free version and eventually optimize, make more out of the site, and then goto the paid services. Thank you for sharing the service.
seemyvisits.com is basically a cut down clicktale but far far cheaper. Does the mouse tracking and recording work nicely.
I suggest you check MouseStats: http://www.mousestats.com/features#compare http://www.mousestats.com/ Disclaimer: There is a relationship between me and MouseStats. Just i felt this service would be useful in this case.
