Clicks higher than Visits

I am currently in dialog with a customer support rep from Adwords. I contacted them because as I started to compare my Adwords data with my Analytics data, numbers seemed off. For instance - when I look at the month of Feb for a certain keyword in Adwords I see that I got 544 clicks. But when I look over at the same date range for the same keyword under my traffic report (using Google CPC) I see that I only got 322 visits.

My issue is that I am being charged for clicks that did not result in visits. Google has sent me several messages citing their FAQ page on 'clicks vs. visits' and have also reminded me that their clicks filtering process weeds out fraudulent clicks so as to not over charge me.

But it doesn't make sense to me. Why am I being charged for 544 clicks when it only resulted in 322 visits to my site? I would understand if the numbers were reversed...but as it stands now it seems that their filtering process is a myth.

Am I crazy or just missing it altogether?

Definitely bizzare. IT's usually the other way around and the extra clicks are the adbot checking things out.

It is disturbing. it might be a bug, but is definitely going to harm, if not stopped by google.

are you sure your tracking software is 100% accurate. I mean was the tracking installed before the adwords campaign was started.

Another possibility is that perhaps your tracking software is only tracking unique visits which could work out less than the number of actual clicks you recieved from adwords. But still, a difference that large seems a bit too big for this to be the issue.

You click means you have visited the site, isn't it? It really doesn't make sense...

Try different tracking and see if they are the same

I have taken different samples from different months...we have been running adwords for our site for a little over a year now. I am using Adwords to track our ads and Google Analytics to track everything else. When I drill down the data on Analytics to specify our traffic coming from Google (CPC) I get these different results.

And after going back and forth with Google they were never able to give me an answer. They just kept giving me FAQ answers over and over - which state that my numbers should be off, but the other way around...giving me more visits than we have clicks. But as I keep pointing out to Google, we are getting charged for clicks that do not equate to visits.
