Clicks, but no earnings?

    I've just started putting adsense on my website, and over the past couple of months, I've noticed that several clicks have not earned anything? Is this common? Are these ads impression based advertisement?

    There are CPM ads. It could also be PSA's or the click was deemed invalid for whatever reason
