Clicks and keywords - count discrepency

I am confused by a disparity between the numbers showing in 'Keyword Performance' and those showing under 'Campaign Performance'.

Under Keyword Performance it shows that I have achieved thousands of impressions but only 12 clicks. I think I understand what this means.
However, under Campaign Performance it shows that I have achieved 503 clicks for the same period.

I assume that this numbers includes all clicks - not just those resulting from keywords.

However when I look at my costs it seems asthough I am being charged per click even for the clicks that did not result from keywords.

Is this right? and if so why?

Are you showing in the display network and/or placements in the same campaign as search ?If so, then the other clicks come from that, and not from keywords, and, yes, of course you will be charged for them.

    Thanks for that Magda.
I'm new at this and hadn't even realised that I had the display network option ticked. I've de-selected it now.
