what constitutes clicking on one's own ads when it comes to Ad Links? Clicking on one of the 4 or 5 ad links or clicking on one of the ads on the page that follows?

Why would you chance clicking on any ads on your site? That's just asking for trouble.

Just roll over the ad, without clicking on it. If you're using Internet Explorer, it will display the URL in the bottom left hand border of your browser.

Right Click "Ads by Google" and select properties, and you can see what site its linking to.

Never ever, click your own ad, its against ethics and is illegal.

I think one of the questions though is, since you need to make 2 clicks to get paid (actually clicking on the ad) does clicking to the page that shows you the list of ads get you into trouble?

Best thing is to ask google imo

But with Ad Links, no money changes hands unless you click the actual ads on the second page. I don't see how that constitutes clicking your own ads, because you are just looking at a list of available ads and not clicking on those.

(I don't even use Ad Links on my site, but I don't see what the big issue is.)

Can you confirm this? Has Google told you that? That being the case the 'gun shy' people that don't want to click for fear of violation of TOS actually can to satisfy curiousity

If it's true you don't get paid for the first click on Ad Links, then it doesn't SEEM like there would be a problem. But why risk it?
You can get a could sense of what the next page will look like by looking at the screenshots shown here. And if you wanted to see the actual ads that were showing up on your particular site, I'm sure they're pretty close to the other normal Ad Sense ads.

No, but thinking logically there's no reason why it would.

Logic doesn't seem to always play a role when it comes to Adsense and Google.

But I agree, logically it seems like you should be able to click on these without violating the TOS.
I'm still not clicking on them though.

i guess this is a new feature to be expected in the Ad Sense Preview Tool (it might already be there).

Don't second guess, Google sometimes defies logic. Better to ask them the question by email.

This is what they look like if you really need to see :) http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=11541

If you want to know what type of ads are being shown on that middle page of yours, wouldn't it just be the same ones which are shown in your normal adsense ad blocks anyway.. but listed on top of each other like serps format. The ads are the same generally, just the formatting is different on this middle page.
