Hi everyone. I set up adsense on my blog. I clicked on the google ads once or twice to test and make sure they worked (I forgot your not allowed to click on your own ads). Am I going to get banned from Google Adsense because of this? Thanks in advance, Ben
Report yourself immediately to Google and provide your IP address. Explain your situation. The point is THEY ALREADY KNOW. But this will give you leverage in the future if they intend to ban you. (you can refer to your own report about "accidental" clicks) And for the love of god... don't forget about clicking... Also... make sure none of your friends, relatives and co-workers visit your sites. Because they WILL click on your ads. I made my ad selectively not show for my IP address at work and home to avoid problems like that. Also only login to AdSense from home. Best Regards and Good Luck!
I believe google adsense would give you a break for a couple of clicks. Just try not to do it again! I know a few guys that got banned for clicking on your own links.
When i started a accidentally clicked a few times. I checked stats it showed the click but no earning for that click so they already knew my IP and so on. I reported it and they said they understand this happens from time to time but to be sure not to do it on purpose. So what they are saying is if i did it again I would probably catch some backlash off of it since I had my chance.
I dont think you really need to report yourself because google has said that you dont have to report every accidental click..they already know...If you cross your limit, they will ban you no matter what...even if you report or not....
^^ Yeah I am pretty sure you do not have to report it but if you click it a large number of times over a certain period of time they will ban you. But it is enough clicks that it would have to be deliberate and then you should be banned.
I did the same thing when I first started adsense and nothing happened to me. You shouldn't worry about being banned by Google. Just make sure you don't do it again or you might not be as lucky. (It wouldn't hurt to tell Google about it, but there's no need to waste your time doing that, unless you want to)
