It probably would have been better to search for the company in Google.

When I first joined adsense I clicked on an ad once. Just to test if it was working, i've never done it since though.

I agree too. It is not wise to inform them if it was just a stray click. If the same thing happen again, they may use it as an excuse against you.

I guess there should be no problem unless you click on it more than once in a short period of time.

One click infrequently is never a problem, contrary to what many would have you believe!

Hey lets look what google says about accidental clicks :)

Thanks for letting us know about the clicks on your ads. We appreciate
your honesty and your efforts to keep your account in good standing.
Although publishers are not permitted to click on their own ads for any
reason, we do understand that accidental clicks may occur, so we don't
require that you contact us every time you click on your ads.

if you copy it in a browser and hit enter it is the same thing as clicking on the ad, as you found out.
    paste the url in notepad.

what i do is, this frame > view frame source

    You did the right thing.
I had ever asked google what shall i need to do if i click the ads accidently. The answer i get is "we understand that the publisher may click on the ads accidently."
google told me it is ok if i don't report it everytime when i click on ads accidently.
But i recommend you to send the email to tell them when did you click the ads accidently and the URL of the website. They will not ban you if you report to them. they understand that we may click one or two click ads accidently.

If you have nothing to hide, who cares. I understand what you mean, but if you aren't intentionally doing anything wrong there should be no point in panicking.

In Firefox you can right-click the URL, select Copy Link Location, then paste the URL into the address bar. Then just look for the website's URL in what you just pasted. It should be after the parameter "adurl=".

Good thing you told them. Just keep working on your content and don't do it again.

Sure they do, behind all their servers and algorithms, there is a large team of people, and someone's job is to keep in touch with the publishers. :)
