    Hi,

    I think clicking twice by "mistake" would be fine, because (if i'm not wrong), the first time you click it, it will register your IP and after that subsequent click won't be register.

    But the thing here is that because you'r logging in and checking your account with the same IP, google "might" consider this as a fraud.

    So.. to cut it short, it all depends.. if you feel safer to email them, go ahead. If not, than I believe it's not a big deal.

    Just follow your decision and no regrets ya!

    Cheers,
    The Guys at MenDNA.com

    Well, it happened to me more than twice and I haven't emailed Google. Instead I put up a script which doesn't show the ads if my ip is in the 'do not show ads for these IPs' list. Here's the script:

    <?

    $noadsip[0]="82.78.113.236";
    $noadsip[1]="193.230.150.1";
    // add as many ips as you want

    if (in_array($_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR'],$noadsip)) { ?>

    	<img src="banners/sample250x250.gif" title="AdSense sample image">

    <? } else { ?>

    <?	// adsense 250x250  ?>

    	<script type="text/javascript"><!--
    	google_ad_client = "pub-1446987117942950";
    	google_ad_width = 250;
    	google_ad_height = 250;
    	google_ad_format = "250x250_as";
    	google_ad_type = "text";
    	google_ad_channel ="1540773959";
    	google_color_border = "FFFFFF";
    	google_color_bg = "FFFFFF";
    	google_color_link = "006699";
    	google_color_url = "cccccc";
    	google_color_text = "000000";
    	//--></script>
    	<script type="text/javascript" src="http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js">
    	</script>

    <? } ?>

    Code (markup):
    Hope this is useful.

    Nice idea.
    But it is difficult for those whose ip is dynamic, unless there is a wildcard option

    I would still email them explaining that you clicked some ads on accident.

    Its better to have a record of it then to just getting banned and then trying to explain what happened.

    I thought really hard about implementing a script like mihaidamianov uses, but I really do want to see my AdSense ads.

    I e-mailed Google the first time I clicked by mistake and said "I made an accidental click." They responsed with a form letter thanking me for contacting them about the invalid clicks. I have not e-mailed them again on that topic.

    I click one of my ads accidentally about once every two weeks. I don't e-mail and Google doesn't complain. But, I am a fairly high-volume publisher. If you only get XX or XXX clicks a day, your personal accidental clicks might stand out.

    They really annoyed me with their response to my e-mail on that topic.

    I said click, they said clicks. I'm sensitive. :eek:

    Plus, I don't really want to e-mail Google about this every two weeks.

    The point in emailing is having documented proof of your attempt to let Google know what happened.

    This would come in handy if you ever do get banned.

    this issue isn't about how much you can get away with.

    if you ignore it and take the advertisers money, it's fraud... penny ante fraud :rolleyes: but fraud nevertheless.

    go ahead and email google, i've done it myself several times, and i haven't been banned yet.

    there was no money taken away.

    this happened in middle of the night while no other clicks. i could see google zeroed the clicks.

    i dont think google wants a million people to email them and say they clicked their ads by mistake.

    Hehehe... perhaps one of us should email Google and ask them if they want to be e-mailed? ;)

    well there is no need to email google about that as no money will be paid by google if you are logging in to your adsense account with the same IP.

    I have 10 computer in lan all have one IP. so it happens quite often that some clicked the ads( by mistake).

    I donot really think that there is any need to make email to google.

    that could have been adjustments in the reporting.

    what if there are 100 computers behind one i.p.? how does google seperate legit clicks from your clicks, if they all have the same i.p.? how does google know how many computers are behind one i.p.? how do they know that you aren't running around clicking ads on several different computers, all behind that one i.p.?

    i guess it all depends on how important your account is to you.

    I guess it depends on the person... I think what Will.Spencer says makes sense... but if someone is not going to sleep at night worrying about it, then it's probably best to email Google...LOL

    Yeah, i wouldn't worry about the 1 click accident. Shoot..My pet rat tramples all over my keyboard when he's searching for snacks i.e. crumbs in the crevasses of the keyboard. I'm pretty sure he clicked on a few ads a few times and no probs from "G" here.
