Clickbank

I have heard that affiliates for clickbank, besides looking for a quality product of course, want a payout of about 65% and a certain price level. Right now my eBook is $3.95. I assume that's too low?

I could beef the book up pretty easily and charge more. Is that what I need to do to get on the radar of the clickbank affiliates?

What is a good recommended price level to attract affiliates?

Yeah, there are some who expect up to and over 50%.

I pretty much laugh at them.

Most do not expect that high.

I would, however, raise the price of that book to at least, say, $15, so there can be enough profit for the both of you to make it worth your while.

Seems way to low to me. You would need to add a $20 or $30 before you will get any interest.

But who buys a book for $20+ anymore?

I have another thread started in which I ask whether to sell my ebook or give it away.
If I decide to sell it, my next problem is what to charge.
It's a 50 page book, with no wide margins or big fonts used to increase the number of pages, and no affiliate links to distract the reader.

I was certainly not thinking of a price as low as $3.95, but I was thinking of a commission rate of well over 50%

I would appreciate other people's thoughts

Thx for the advice. So you're saying I could give the affiliate 40% and keep 60% if I can get the price of my book over about $15??

If the content is good and you give great value and offer bonuses people will pay. you don't seem to have any confidence in your product !

Mine was 3.95 cuzz it's only about 30 pages. I have a lot more material, though - just haven't had time to put it together.

I know my product is good. Get thank you emails all the time. By I'm a relatively low traffic site and didn't feel I could charge "hardback" prices for my eBook. I'm pretty sure I would scare people away.

What do you mean by "offer bonuses"? My book isn't financial in nature.

Well, you can look at this from all angles, but the bottom line is that there has to be enough profit to make it worth your while. ... Especially if you advertise.

If you do not raise it, you will see very, very little profit. You might as well not even try to sell your product(s) then.

Work the numbers in your head to see what I mean.

How much profit is worth your while? Then price your book to get that much.

And, yes, people will pay $15 on up for info.

Think about starting it at that price, and then give a commish of 50%.

If you can get at least 1 sale out of, say, 100 visitors, raise it to $20, and then see if you can get the same results.

It's all in how you can sell it to them, and how your site looks.

A bonus could be anything it depends on your product. A free audio download from an expert in your product field for example, try and make an irresistable offer. If you say your product is good you should have no problem, good luck.

Sorry to be dense, but basically you're just saying that I offer something on the lines of, "And if you buy this book now, it comes with ____", right? If that's what you're saying, then I'm with you.

I'm just curious: does that really make that much difference? The reason that I'm asking is that most of the guys that come to my site are more the logical, deductive types. In other words, I think they just want the information for the information and that might be somewhat of a turnoff.

But I really appreciate the idea. Anything else you have to say about this, I am very interested...

just go on clickbank and check the market place... have a look how many products are offering "free" extras just to sell their main product.

If you were going to buy a new computer, would you go for the one that is just the tower or would you go for the one that has a flat screen, keyboard, mouse and printer free with it?
