Commission Junction, as they have a wide selection of offers to promote, and they payout via Paypal

CJ is better: their programs convert better and there is less competition from other affiliates, especially if you do article marketing.

Well Clickbank is only for digital products but Commission Junction is also for physical products so it depends on your website or interest :)

Just now signed up for CJ. Do they only allow you to place banner ads on your site or can you actually put sale items on your website?

It all depends on what you are actually selling. In the event that you want bigger commissions in your affiliate campaigns you should look at clickbank. If you actually want to build something to sell products like supplements, computer parts, magazines and so on CJ is better. As someone said, you should not focus on using just one over the other. Why not use them both?

It depends on the program that you were approved for. There are usually banners and text links that link directly to a product too

I use both on my sites. I do this because it is good to have a mix of really big name companies and smaller websites that people have never heard of

All good insights but I've heard that CJ is a little more nazi-like (kind of like google vs yahoo) any experience?

Cj is much better than clickbank... In clickbank customers just buy the products, steal the information and opt for a refund... So you make a sell with no profit, but in cj they have control over the reversal...
