how do we go about this kind of this? any suggestions / recommendations? of course none of us would want to be a victim of this. but is this really exist? how secured is our affiliate link with clickbank? your thoughts and insights will be highly appreciated! thanks in advance.... mitch espinosa
From the research I done, there isn't really much one can do to prevent this except cloak your links. Senerio1- They buyer has spyware or a malicious toolbar which overwrites cookies.. If this was the case, nothing you can do but fix the buyers computer (which you probably can't do). Senerio2- The buyers computer doesn't accept cookies or classifies Clickbank cookies as "BAD"- Nothing you can do except force buyers to accept cookies with web scripting. The downfall is, many people will leave a site if it forces people to alter their computer settings. Looks suspicious. Probably lose more sales this way Senerio3- Buyer see's it's a hoplink and changes the path to either no affiliate or their own affiliate name. Solution- Cloak your links with redirects or use a php header redirect. Customer will most likely not know it's an affiliate link and click away. Exception- The payment page is hosted by clickbank, so any experienced clickbank marketer will see this and most likely change the link anyways. The best advice I can give is: 1: Cloak your hoplink 2. Report any shady activity you notice to Clickbank. If everyone does this step, Clickbank will weed out the possible attacks over time. Ofcourse, everyone wants "EASY MONEY" and there will always be hacking and shady stuff going on, so you got to do what you can and always concentrate on multiplying your earnings to offset the hacks that do get through
