Doesnt it bother u that these are generally the products with the highest gravity? Does this say smthing bout cb or people who want an easy solution bout EVERYTHING.. but yes... cb SHUD find a way to validate products.. 60 days refund is just not the way to do this... Theres absolutely NO principle behind the 60 day thing.. Lets say you ARE scammed in that case ull kno it the moment u buy the damn thing.. k lets giv a lil time.. max its 14 days.. Its a little unfair that cb says it takes 60 days fr u to evaluate a prod.. lets say u buy a fatloss guide.. u try it fr 60 days and it din work fo YOU.. doesnt mean u get a refund.. you still went THRU the program.. its like buying a game.. i dont finish it doesnt mean i get a refund fr it!
Yes. The 60 day policy bothers me as well. I've had people refund high-dollar products over a month later.
Exactly..and theres NO reason for them to.. they've friggin USED the product by then! it doesnt help ANYTHING!
They are already doing it slowly. They phased out quite a lot of blatant scams (p2p products) a few months back. All those scams had huge gravity and good conversions. I'm sure they will soon get rid of more crap.
ClickBank is just a payment processor. It won't hurt their image anymore than it will hurt VISA or MASTERCARD's image for accepting the transaction.
What? CB is not just a payment processor.. visa and mastercard are!! cb is not even a payment processor..! wth!
@jacky8: I certainly hope they're doing that! Slowly but surely is good enough for me. @rammbhat: Yup, in a way it certainly seems the 60-day refund policy is a sloppy substitute for actual quality control. @mcapodici: Visa, MasterCard and Paypal are payment processors. Clickbank is an affiliate program network marketplace. Even if it was just a payment processor, quality control and fraud prevention would still be very important. Do you remember what happened with Western Union?
It's hard to determine if products are scam. Disclaimers will tell you that you need to put work into seeing results (money, weight loss, etc.). You can't just buy the product and expect miracles to happen.
Very interesting thread.Clickbank has a lot of scam products.I consider a product as scam if it cannot provide majority of its promises. Most clickbank affiliates are not aware of the quality of the products they are promoting. All they know is the percentage of commission and gravity. I am really sad to say that clickbank scams polluted the whole internet. Some one is developing a product and affiliates are promoting it without examining what happened to those who already purchased it. Unfortunately most people start learn affiliate marketing using clickbank. Some of the high gravity products are perfect scams. here is a thread about a very popular clickbank product http://forums.ebay.com/db2/topic/The-Homestead/Satellite-Tv-For/2000184551&start=0 99% people are not satisfied. Those who support this product are putting their affiliate link in their reply I wish all buyers had refunded these kinds of scams so these scams die naturally. Here is my dream: Vendors develop Good products Clickbank verify each product throughly before accepting them. Affiliates care about the customers. If the current situation persists, the day will come then people won't purchase a product only because the payment processor is clickbank I started from clickbank and promoted many craps .Now very selective and promote good products only. Lesson learned: It is possible to make money doing ethical marketing Thanks
@suheirs: Worry not, for I have actually been thinking of starting a blog aimed at helping people just like you. Actually, when I start a thread such as this one, I rather think of it as an open laboratory for a future article. Now, isn't that neat?
If you think clickbank is bad, take any random CPA program and see how outright SCAMs like Colon Cleanse and Acai are promoted. Where people get billed and billed and get scammed over left and right.
This is true. If you are planning to make 5 figure or even 6 figure income online, ethical marketing is the way to go. Most scammers and affiliates writing fake reviews usually don't last long.
This was one of my main thoughts for this whole thread....... If you want to go over the top to make sure you are promoting something that works, you should buy the product, test it, and measure the results, then go about promoting it..... lol
Some vendors will give the affiliate a free copy of the actual product. A simple e-mail should do the trick.
LOL @ Cbank: I don't know whether your product is the best, but it certainly isn't one of the least hyped up with its "biggest launch of the year" and "sales soaring through the roof". Speaking of which, will you eventually send me that review copy you promised? I'm really hoping your product isn't a shameless, quasi-identical half-assed rewrite of the original scar product (like pretty much everybody seems to think it is), but I REALLY need see it with my own eyes to draw my own conclusions. You do realize that by failing to attend my insistent requests for a review, you're making people suspicious of your own legitimacy, right?
@CBank: If your product is unique and not a rehash of Scar Solution, why are you dodging to send a review copy that Smitten has requested? Regarding CB products quality, I believe almost all the products that are advertised on the logon page are scams.....and it's really hard to find a product that delivers what it promises. However one can go by this rule, that good products are all least advertised
