Clickbank Sales Going Really Bad!!

    Hi guys,

I've been having a couple of bad weeks at clickbank, so today i decided to look around a little to see what is happening. I saw the below attached chart from CB-analytic which really says it all. It looks like sales at Clickbank have noticed a very sharp drop in the past weeks.

Are you guys also hit by this? What could be the cause, and when do you think sales will pickup again?

What is killing me the most is the increase in the number of order form submits which do not result in any sale. 50% of my order form submits now do not lead to a sale. And trust me I have so many order form submits everyday!

I doubt if there is any May - July effect on online spending. Just have to wait and see how things boil down....

How are your CB sales doing right now? Just checking so I know I'm not alone in this. Will not solve the problem, but might give some kind of comfort.

Yeah, things have been HORRENDOUS for me. In one of my niches, despite consistent hops, I am getting 1 or ZERO sales for about 2k hops, which would normally result in about 10-12 sales at the very least.

And yes, my order form submits have been whack as well. In fact, the number of order form submits, if successful, would have resulted in 10-12 sales.

I've since redirected my stuff to other networks.

That graph shows and proves nothing. It has gone from ~43k upto ~44k and down to ~41k. A 2k fluctuation when dealing with 40k numbers is no big deal, and can be contributed to anything even normal market forces.

Although order form submits are doing my head in also

Well, that helps explain it. Yeah, my sales started dropping in April, despite an increase in hop count. Was wondering what was happening, since I haven't changed the landing pages at all - but my overall conversion rate has dropped from around 1 in 80 to close to 1 in 200.

Wondering if this might be seasonal? I've been with Clickbank for less than a year, but I did notice a big drop around Christmas as well, which many people said was seasonal.

Well, all I have to say is that after switching my links over to a different network the sales are coming back in.

As far as the order form submits, I tried purchasing a CB product through my hoplink to see if the tracking was working, and my order failed the first time because I didn't enter my middle initial that was present on the card. Quite frankly, I don't remember having to enter my middle initial when making any other purchase online. Is this maybe throwing off some otherwise successful submits? Maybe. Maybe not. Who knows.

BTW: Hits up and sales down for me also....

Sadly i can report the same sharp drop of about 60% in the last 2 months or so.
i have been with clickbank for years and i do know that each time of year carries with it its
typical changes in sales for each niche but i can't recall such a drop across the board on clickbank ever.

Im speaking both as a vendor as an affiliate making a respecteble volume of sales on more then
one niche and sadly this sharp decline is felt in all my accounts.

I guess there is not much left to do with this except hope its a phase or technical problem with an expiry attached to it as it is not up to anyone here to fix this anyway......

Something similar is all over adult boards. It has to do with visa and mastercard denying more and more online transactions.

^^ Been seeing this issue pop up more and more often as well. Many orders being declined. Several a day actually.

Its perfectly normal, if you can find a graph of the past years you will see the same exact trend - sales going down when summer approach as a general rule (However, it depends a lot on your niche, while the general trend go downwards, sales of some niches go down more than others, other niche go up however - like always)

it's something as simple (or complicated) as the recession.

April and May have been two of my worst months in the last 3 years. There was a glimmer of hope back in April, and May did begin well, but it's been crash and burn ever since. I think I need a vacation :(

I too have observed similar trends. What will happen in April and May? Do people stay away from their PC?

They are on their PC's, no doubt about that as the traffic logs show a steady flow of people on my sites. The problem is, either those people aren't buying or valid cards are being declined.

I made zero sale thus far in the month of May. Used to make more than 10 sales monthly for the niche that I am pursuing.

Just wondering, is it common that your affiliate sales are not reflected in your account?

I have one buyer told me that he bought the ebook that I am promoting via my website but no sale was reflected in my clickbank account. :(

That's pretty much what's happening with the CB network right now. Not sure how widespread the problem is, but it is starting to remind me of similar problems in previous years. This time, however, it seems to be unexpectedly bad.

Has anyone noticed a significant drop in ezinearticles, and articlesbase articles recently? Could that have something to do with the general drop in sales?

I have noticed this too. I have (what was) a good selling item, usually converting in about evry 25 hops. It's now had over 200 hops, a few order form completions but not a single sale.
