If you play by Clickbank's rules, you'll never have a problem. I've always been paid like clockwork.

I don't completely agree with title of this thread but I highly disagree with this particular rule. They say it explicitly in their TOS but it doesn't make any sense to me.

I don't know any other network having such a rule. It is better to pay them the remaining amount and close the account. In my opinion, it is better to contact the affiliate before taking such crucial decisions.

That is the speciality of this clickbank section

Less respect each other. Many people are waiting for simple reasons to criticize others and call them "idiots"

If you are a member of other forums, you can see the real difference.

    Thanks

Yes, they do that dude. I just checked my clickbank account, and they've been taking out $5.00 from my earnings every 2 weeks since march 2nd!! If you count the $1.00 deductions they've taken out a total of $37.00 since they started. Apparently, dormancy, or inactivity is counted as no sales coming in for a specified period of time. You may have been actively trying to sell stuff all this time, but if no sales were made this counts as your account being inactive, and after a certain time passes they start deducting $1.00 fee's, and then later on it escalates up to $5.00 per 2 week period. They aren't stealing your money though, or being sneaky as all this is spelled out in their TOS agreement. Most people don't read all that though as it's very long, and they don't tell you about it up front as they believe it's your responsibility to read it when you join. The only thing you can do to stop them is to make 5 sales or more and then they'll start sending you your money. The 5 sales need to be from 5 different people, credit cards, etc. Paypal sales don't count I think, and this rule is to keep affiliates from buying from themselves and claiming the commissions on their own purchases. Hope this helps.

I have shifted away from CB and focused more on services and PLR/MRR products. Faster return and easier to control

I hope this doesn't sound offensive, but in all honesty: If you aren't making enough sales to avoid your account being flagged as dormant, you may want to look for something different than affiliate marketing to make money.

If you actively promote products, no matter if via your own sites, PPC or whatever, it's pretty much impossible not to make sales and get payouts.
