So I wasn't paying close attention to my clickbank account, and without warning they starting charging me fees. I had $52 in there, and I could have changed my payment threshold to $50 and taken it out, but I figured whats the difference i would just wait till it got to $100 and then they would pay me. When I recently looked though, it showed I was owed 0. Without warning they labeled my account dorment and took all my money in fees. Why they labeled it dorment i'm not sure, i was still referring traffic just not making sales. So I emailed them and this is the response I got: Hello, Thank you for your inquiry. There are certain circumstances in which ClickBank is not yet able to send a payment for money earned in an account. This is typically because the account has not met the Customer Distribution Requirement or Payment Threshold setting. If such an account has earned money but has not yet met the requirements to be eligible for payment and has not received any additional earnings to meet these requirements for an extended period of time the account becomes "dormant". Dormant accounts are subject to a charge of $1 per pay period after 90 days of inactivity, $5 per pay period after 180 days of inactivity, and $50 per pay period if any balance still remains after 365 days of inactivity. Please note that only actual new sales count as "activity", Hops do not. We charge a Dormant Account Fee so that the earnings we are not able to send can be reconciled into our accounting books and reported for tax purposes. Because it is money that has been earned, it must eventually be claimed for tax purposes and cannot remain in the account indefinitely if the payment requirements are never met by that account. Unfortunatley, Dormant Account Fees are not refundable. Once an account reaches $0.00, the Dormant Account Fees are no longer charged. For more information regarding dormant account fees, please see the following page: http://www.clickbank.com/accounting.html Thank you, Jenny ClickBank Client Support So the lesson learned is you can't trust Clickbank. Any opportunity they see, they will steal your commissions. They could have paid me, or warned me, instead they are sneaky and steal my money. BTW a pay period is 2 weeks, so they were taking $10 per month.
Or alternatively you could have read the terms and conditions. This is a pretty well known policy and isn't all that unfair. You make sales you get paid, you don't make sales why should they look after your money for you.
lol what a moron. it helps to read the terms and conditions CB would have to be one of the most reputable affiliate networks they always pay on time if you actually make money with them
why would they care about affiliates that are not making money for them? whenever you signup to an affiliate network you should read the terms and conditions so you know what you are getting yourself into.
clickbank is loosing its market now because ...... it is giving more importance to vendors but not to affilaites.... and mostly vendors are using clickbank as their payment gateway......
I can see why you are a little upset, but don't get too angry. Use this as motivation to earn more cash!
I'm not going to resort to calling you an idiot, but this should be a wake-up call for you to read the fine print. They make it "fine" for a reason. The consensus is that you won't take the time to read it all the through to see how and if you are protected by any of the provisions. Good luck in the future and don't make a mistake like this again. Its not necessary to go that route twice!
You're not an idiot so don't listen to those comments. It happens unfortunately. Clickbank products aren't the easiest things to sell considering half of them are filled with lies.
In my opinion, and with all due respect, I think you should be worried more about how you can generate way more than $50 than worrying about how ClickBank took that amount away from you.
Maybe you should try to bump up your sales and get some more referals out there... you can start making money then...
what happened to you is chump change, i lost $40,000/month income because clickbank decided they didn't like the rent-to-own niche anymore. after having an account with them for over 2 years you'd think they would send you an advance notice so you could stop selling there and work on moving over your subscribers and affiliates but nope...in a flash they refund 2 months of payments, cancel all subscriptions, withhold all pending payouts, ruin your affiliate trust. we only had 1.3% chargeback rate and had seen better times so I could have brought it below 1% with a fair warning
This very much reminds me of gift cards (or phone cards) where no matter how smart you try to play it, there is always some kind of balance on the card left over that you can never get at because there are "inactivity" or other fees associated with the non-use of the card and in the end, the company just swallows up all the money.
You left your account Dormant. There are alot of infor of Clickbank rules in the net I don't how you missed this rule of their's
