Man Clickbank's refund policy is so retarded. Just simply write an email and blam you get your money back plus you get to keep what you got. How fucking stupid is that? I know people here are going to say "don't pick high refund products" in which I don't, but I still get around 5% refunds which really impacts the bottom line. I sell $6000 per month for one product, then 50% of that goes to Google (Adwords), so you think $3000 is pretty good ROI right? Not really when you take 5% of that off ($6000 x 5%) that leaves you with $2750. But you also gotta take their stupid 10% commission off which is now $2175. I just hate how their account summary page shows all these nice high inflated numbers but don't show the refunds nor your charges. You think oh wow I made this much, but then when your cheque comes you get all this stuff knocked off. At least with other networks, your earnings are your earnings (even though they take their commission beforehand but at least your see what you get). Sorry for the rant, but I just think it's stupid to allow people to get something for free while us affiliates had to pay money to get that traffic. "Here's some money" then a day or two later "I'm taking that money from your bank a/c because someone knows how to screw our system".
Ya I have seen refunds just minutes after a purchase. A bit ridiculous... Oh well 75% of the products on clickbank are just a waste of money anyways. Imagine all the complaining about clickbank products if there were no refunds? It would be impossible to sell anything from them if that were the case.
Clickbank has got nothing to do with refund rates. That's publisher's fault, if the product is not good enough or customers who are asking for refund deliberately. I agree with some Clickbank charges, but they are not so big, are they?
A 2100 profit on a spend of 3000. That's still an ROI of 70% (monthly). With all the talks of recession going on, I bet people would kill to have that ROI. Of course, refunds suck. But 5% is hardly a rate to worry about
After 11 days with no sales, I get my first refund today. Woohoo! I finally see some action on my CB account! :endsarcasm
Refunds are a part of the business - Clickbank doesn't really have any choice but to offer easy refunds - it keeps them out of hot water. I'm happy to say that I haven't had a refund of my product yet - but I know it will come - so I'm preparing myself for it! It is frustrating no doubt - but you have to just include the refunds as a part of doing business.
You can have todays. 6 sales, 5 refunds, $70 in adspend. Ya I realize CB would be screwed without their no questions asked refund policy because they let pretty much any crap product to be sold through their site. If they had tighter rules on what products are accepted, and took away the refund policy (CPA doesn't allow refunds!), then I think CB would be a better place.
On the other hand, I purchased an SEO product in good faith, it didn't work, AND it violated Google's TOS etc. I paid $50 for it. I would have raised holy hell with my credit card processor had they NOT refunded it. Are you the product owner or are you promoting as an affiliate?
Also, back in the day, when I was an affiliate, If I wasn't getting a 3:1 return on adwords, I changed products.
Perhaps if you understood things a bit better it might help to ease your burden. First Tenet: All Business Has A Cost Of Operation. Next there usually is not a refund of CPA due to the following. CPA = Cost Per Action.....if the action is submitting a zip, email address, phone number, address, etc..... then this is freely given, and it is very hard to ask for a refund for something someone did not pay for. Next here on Earth every business has expenses...they range from trivial to quite substantial. Some expenses are; Sales commissions, refunds, returns, chargebacks, internal theft, external theft, loss, markdowns, insurance premiums, rent, utilities, employee expenses, taxes, etc., etc. Even toilet paper for the office is an expense.... If you do not know this.... then why you are online trying to sell products is a mystery..... Why would Clickbank take away a refund policy that 95% of known businesses have??? They have a phrase for people who don't like working for themselves | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | GET A JOB!!!!!!!
Thanks for the Economics 101 bud, you really made me realize that there are expenses and that businesses don't run for free. I didn't realize that the paper I wipe my ass costs the company that I work for money, I always thought it was free? Actually I do have a job (that I'm at right now and hate). And NO I don't mean CPA with shitty little zip submits, I mean offers that require credit card or even something like ringtones. Do ringtone companies offer refunds because someone's stupid kid subscribed to a $10 per month subscription? Maybe they should start too, and then the affiliate companies should take the earnings from the affiliate. Sorry for the rant, just a really shitty day overall
hmmm odd I would toss in the toilet paper correlation and you're having a shitty day..... Actually yes there is an easy way to get back money spent on a CPA.....its called "chargeback" Hope your day ends soon and tomorrow brings you a new found outlook.... (PS I never ever crapped at work when I had a J.O.B.)
