    Hi,
I'm new to the internet marketing thing. I have followed a couple of seminars on how to start as a Clickbank affiliate, and before starting my own blog I decided to put some video on youtube to promote my affiliate link.
I'm a guitarist and I've decided to promote a teaching product for guitar beginners (jamorama). It has a good gravity I think (47.80) and a 75% commission.

I have recorded a dozen videos where I play cover of rock bands for which I have done keyword researches, and have put a link to
my clickbank refeered product buying a domain at go daddy (www.adrian6strings.com) and I've done domain forwading to it, so it gets back to my jamorama sales page without the ugly looking affiliate link.

Now I've been recording and studying and organizing for four days, I have had three link clicks and no one bought.

I know that I'm just beginning and it requires time to get the page rank of every video to go up and be easily found. I'm just frustrated because 4 days of hard work with no results whatsoever is very frustrating.

Any thoughts? Should I give up altogether? Do blogs really work?
How much time does it take to let the whole system work?
What's the point of working 8 hours a day to see results in 3 months?

I have to sell 66 products by the end of august to leave home, and I'm kind of dismayed by the lack of job opportunies where I live.

    Thanks

It takes a lot more than 4 days to see some results in Internet marketing. Blog marketing works, but I'm afraid it's not a method to make fast cash. As you said in your post, it requires time to promote your videos, get more and more viewers, more clicks and hopefully more sales.

It also depend on your videos. Are they "sales oriented"? Do they tease your prospects to see what jamorama is all about? Do you have a link and maybe a call-to-action included in the videos? If they are educational videos only, chances are most visitors will say: "well, that was a nice guitar tip" and then leave without clicking any link. Your videos should not only educate, but pre-sell jamorama.

I have played songs at the best of my ability to persuade viewers into learning the guitar. So I suggest to visit a link to a good coaching program in the description.
Unfortunately you can't add links directly in the videos of youtube, I could put the text link (non-clickable) in every video...but I should re-upload them all.
Also I thought about uploading video on other video sharing sites like metacafe, veoh etc. I hope that'll boost a little link clicks.

A call-to-action is a good idea, I have to find a way to make it not sound overly commercial though. Pre-selling? Hmmmm I have to think deeper about that.

    Thanks for the tips!

I was not talking about clickable links in videos.. just URLs.

Pre-selling is an essential skill for any affiliate. A pre-sold visitor goes to the merchant's site with a very high "buying mood". She's already pre-warmed by the affiliate, so the probability of making a purchase is considerable.

So I could put on the videos themselves a note saying like 'Want to learn to play like that? Visit Jamorama site at : wwwdotblablabladotcom' ..that is, in the uppercorner for the whole clip lenght. Do you think it would enhance the actual sell, besides enhancing overall visibility of the link?

Having seen that now and then someone visits this post I'd like to add that:

    - yes, it could be valuable to add descriptions but:

    - youtube annotation system suck and doesn't work properly (it made me so mad I decided to give it up altogether and just leave the goddamn link in the description)
    - It will take years to boost the page rank of the single youtube video, so maybe it's just better to link videos in high page rank websites.

In fact, people without IM strategies that made popular videos with 300 thousands views posted the video 4 years ago.
Other people posting the same kind of video ( a cover song called 'Vicarious' by a progmetal band called 'Tool') 2 years after roughly made 5 thousands video views.

So what we could do is:

    - make the video and put the link INSIDE the video, so that if they want to delete it, they gotta delete the whole video
    - Upload the video
    - promote it on high page ranked websites
    - wait and pray

Heck! I'm very generous today, I should've transformed this post in a monetized blogpost!
Lol, have a good one everyone

When it comes to selling Clickbank products you need a good presell to get the buyer to take action and click thru to the affiliate site as well as buy. I find using articles (such as submitting articles to Ezine Articles) works to get traffic that is willing to trust you as you get a chance to subtly presell them in the article then if you send them to a presell as the landing page where it talks about how you used the product and found it easy to learn and the results you got ...etc. with a clear call to action button on the landing page.

I find I haven't had much success with videos because I believe text is a much more powerful medium to communicate for this type of product. I wonder whether people who are watching Youtube videos are really looking to invest in anything or considering paying for information whereas traffic that has found your article in the organic Google listings whilst they were searching for "learn guitar" or even keywords to do directly with the product name - these guys are much more interested in investing in the right information and you have a chance to prove you know what you are talking about from your article and presell.

Just my 2 cents worth :)

Hi! In the meanwhile I've tried to be as flexible as possibile in my learning. In fact I've taken the presell thing into account and I've started reading about copywriting, looking for autoresponders, email marketing, wordpress, how to create landing pages, follow up emails, optin forms, web site development, outsourcing, traffic targeting...

Yeah, it'll take a while! I think in the end I'll use those youtube videos as testimonials for my guitar playing, I'll give a free pdf or something and start building my list little by little.
So now, I've got some investments to do with autoresponders and hosting accounts. I'm already sweating!

In the meanwhile I sent an article to ezinearticles, but about forex trading. The jamorama product saturates completely ezinearticles...there are more than 20 articles about
it talking about the same thing! I'm waiting for the article to be approved, I know that ezinearticles will boost a little my blog page ranking.

I've read just yesterday about the landing pages etc., so thank you for your advice. If I hadn't read it I would have had your advice. Thanks man :D

I guess that maybe I'll put an autoplaying video in the landing page, I don't know. I have to try out different things yet as I'm just starting out with IM.

By now I've understood that presellling is essential, so I've already started reading about it on ebooks, and copywriting as I've already said.
Someone says that videos are very powerful other people say they aren't..I guess it's all matter of niche.

I still have this huge interrogation mark hanging over my head
