Gravity is the number of the affiliates which successfully sells that product.

Gravity is a metric for the number of affiliates that have made at least 1 sale in the past 8 weeks or something like that. Refd% is the amount of sales that the product is generated through affiliates like you yourself would be if you got a hoplink for the product. So steer clear from a product with a 10% Referral rate because that means the vendor is making most of the sales (possibly he has a lot of affiliates and is cheating them by having his own opt in on the page where he overrides his affiliates' links). On the other hand, if 60-75% or more of the sales are generated by affiliates, and the product has a decent gravity, then you should go for it.

As for what gravity product you should choose, I don't think it really matters so long as its above single digits. I actually hear of some people that sell products with single digit gravity ratings.

I wouldn't be afraid of researching low gravity products. Try to figure out why it has low gravity.

Sometimes a quick look at the sales page can tell you if a product is worth promoting. I've seen some sales pages that not only have adsense, but they have links to other competing products (using their own affiliate links). Also be wary of products with a lot of links that take visitors away from the sales page. These products are not worth promoting.

Sometimes you will find a great product with low gravity because the vendor doesn't know how to attract affiliates. These are the ones you need to find and promote.

A lot of affiliates are lazy and just promote high gravity products because they know the product sells. They settle for the scraps of the super affiliates.

If you do your research you can find a low gravity product that converts and doesn't have much product competition, you will make a fortune before all of the other affiliates catch on. Hopefully by then, they'll be taking your scraps...

So what are the next steps that you would do after finding a product.

Is it easy to go about promoting it ?? does it cost much to do ??

I've been looking to get myself sorted for a longtime, as have been unable to work for 4 years, and was hoping to make some income from affililiates.. but so far i've not succeeded

    So any tips greatful.

go for products with reacurring bill then that way if you refer 1 costumer and if that costumers stays you make money each month on a widescale this would result into $1000 without a single sale

Really I am more concerned with the % Refd than gravity. I think the %refd means what percent of the sales of the product comes from affiliates, and not from the publisher. I have heard (although I have no data to back this up) that some products with low %refd means that the publishers or product creators are shaving sales.

I usually try to promote products with 75% or more %refd and a gravity of at least 20.

Outside of the guide(s) on the site, is there a blog/site that talks about it in detail? Having a hard time digesting it right now.
