Clickbank Just Made It Extra Easy for a Customer to Get A Refund Now...

Have you seen the clickbank's new ticket system? They say it's a way to provide customer better support...But that's also a way to make it extremely easy for a customer to get a refund.

Before if a customer wanted a refund he would have to either call clickbank...Mail the vendor or Go to the clickbank site & fill up a long form entering several details which was a lengthy process.

Now with the purchase he gets a support link he can click...Whenever he would click on get support...There is a ready link there which says get a refund next to get support.

It gives you just two options and this is like you are almost welcoming them to get a refund.

I don't know if other vendors here have noticed that but they will see a sudden rise in refunds.

    Have you seen a rise?

On one hand, I think it's good that a company should be openly handing out refunds, esepcially with the tons of questionable products on clickbank, but I think it shud be a mutual thing between the publisher and the client instead of one-sided against the publisher right now.

    Hows pullyourexback doing?!!

I think people who really want a refund would get it no matter what...
And people that don't really care wouldn't do anything, no matter how hard/easy it is.

Probably you are right, but now even if you dont want to ask for a refund you are tempted to do so. Not everyone is a saint and im sure that lot of people that wouldnt ask for a refund will do it now, its just a matter of 1 click

I had 2 refunds which account for 3.33% of our total sales.

Besides the clickbank ticket system seems doesnt work. How to?

Yes I agree, the new system sucks.

If the customer really wants a refund, he will get it. I personally refund each customer that e-mails me that he wants a refund, I don't try to jerk him around and not give him a refund like some other publishers do.

But what Cb has done is too much, they made it too easy to get a refund. Customers will start getting refunds, 'just for the hell of it' .

They could keep the ticket system, but not mention it in the receipt e-mail of the customer. Because they now have a link on the receipt from which the customer can easily get a refund. This will ultimately significantly increase refund rate for all products, and it would be bad for both affiliates and publishers.

This is spot on in my opinion!

I believe my products are quality and get low refunds, but if after purchasing you practically say to someone "What do you think, do you want your money back?"

What do you think they are going to say?

I think it is a good update, and brilliant for customer service but to make it so very easy to get a refund in the current climate there may be alot of refunds.

    Anyway time will tell!

Good point, maybe a reason for refund as well, that way if a company gets to many similar requests for reason of refund they may be able to improve product or reason for refund.
Sometimes people just request refund as they do not know how to open digital product etc.. It may be a simple solution.. :)

I bought a clickbank product to see everything a buyer sees...And here is the shocking thing. I clicked on get support...And I am taken to this page where it also gives me an option to get a refund.

I mean I didn't even want a refund but a big option is right there...Now what are the odds that I won't ask for a refund? Before the customer had to fill up a big form with all his order details...Call clickbank or the vendor.

But here all he has to do is just choose the option on the right...And within 24 hrs he gets a refund.

I think it all comes down to type of people who buy the products, in other words the market.

If you are selling a make-money product, then the buyers will either purchase through their affiliate links, or get a refund however difficult/easy it might be.

On the other hand, I don't think people who buy acne cure would refund the product, when they see "refund link" in the email.

    Different customers think differently.

We all are marketers here, that's why we think the new refund system is shocking, but it's important to think as a buyer as well, and when you do that, everything is not THAT bad at all...

bl4ckmaN^, though refund rate will differ from niche to niche still it will be lot higher than current one.
I think only Software products and Membership sites will not get affected by this, else it will be a night mare for sure.

Ebooks are something which will get a bad hit, what ever niche it is vendors and affiliates will suffer from this.
