just want to return the thanks to you for the motivation this thread has brought me. i was always on the edge of really jumping into affiliate marketing but have since taken the plunge, but i can tell there is learning curve and it also requires a lot of dedication. the dedication is not a problem as much as it is learning how to effectively encourage people to actually buy the product through a pre-sell page.

some quick questions, how long had you been into affiliate marketing before you decided to really take the plunge? do you owe a lot of your success to reading ebooks, or was it more from people you've met along the way which helped you out? and my last question, how many hops do you think is sufficient for each product to be seeing before moving on to another?

How many words are in each article?

Hi Guys

I have been busy with other stuff as you all know. The affiliate side of things is ticking over nicely. I still somehow manage to find the time to write some articles and I have outsourced a bit of that work as well. Nearly mid month and just a quick update for the journal.

Plimus is currently sitting at 45 sales which is $1001.25

Clickbank is 32 sales which is $1,072.32

At this stage of the month I am happy but need to ramp things up again towards the end of the month. I am still considering putting the vendor earnings into this as that was a natural progression on this thread. If anyone is opposed to this please let me know.

I will be updating things more regularly from now on. A few of you might have noticed that I am having some hosting issues on the blog but that is another long story which I will go into at a later date.

I have a question: When you submit duplicate articles to other directories, do you change the title and first paragraph every time or are there some directories you can get away with not changing anything?

Also, have you ever sold competing products in the same niche? If so, did you reuse the same article for both products?

 

@madlabs a lot of the article directories will let you submit the articles without changing them it is just personal preference. Also I have never sold 2 competing products at the one time.

Have you ever gotten the "failed" message when trying to submit an Articlebase article through Digg with Onlywire that says,"

 

Who knows Pete might just be a marketing genius and was probably a successful webmaster before he begun this thread...

I know earlier in your journal you were talking about how you were using Adsense with Google Trends to make even more.

Are you still doing this? And if so, how much are you averaging with this method now?

Well the best thing to do is to have goals and follow them through.

A good way to do this as the Op has demonstrated is to post your goals on this
forum! That way you will have a group of people to hold you to it.

Yep, I kinda figured that one out...

 

@madlabs yeah that happens but just ignore digg with articlesbase you can submit other article directories to digg. If you have other links to that same article then digg those links instead.

@ brada7x I am not doing so much of the google trends anymore too much time consuming. There are other options you can use google trends with instead of adsense but I haven't managed to update the ebook with that yet. I will very soon.

@gary101 I wish I was that foreward thinking. the only reason I set this up was to keep myself on track. I never envisaged that this thread would take off like it did.
