Clickbank Instant Notification/IPN question

I have a question about Clickbank's Instant Notification Script. (This is like paypal's IPN, but it is for Clickbank.)

Anyway, I have a couple of user variables that I would like to pass to the INS from the payment link. In Clickbank, your payment link is:

    http://ITEM.VENDOR.pay.clickbank.net/

where ITEM is your item number (assigned by Clickbank), VENDOR is your Clickbank user name.
It is possible to pass your own variables to this payment link like this:

    http://ITEM.VENDOR.pay.clickbank.net/?var1=value1&var2=value2

In the Clickbank INS documentation, they describe a variable called cvendthru that is defined as: "extra information passed to order form with duplicated information removed"

So I am guessing that var1 and var2 will show up somehow here. Is this correct? What exactly shows up in this example?

Unfortunately there is no way to test this without actually buying my own product. And I can't buy my own product until Clickbank approves it, and CB won't approve it until I get my INS script correct, which I can't do until I can buy my own product. So the only thing I can do is try to get an answer from CB tech support (good luck) or ask here to see if anyone else has done this.

    Thanks
